DERMALOG and IDnow Collaborate On AutoIdent Security Platform

Two of Germany’s leading biometrics companies are teaming up to launch a secure identification platform for mobile devices. Created by DERMALOG and IDnow, AutoIdent is a mobile app that uses facial recognition technology to authenticate users. It offers all of the familiar benefits of biometric authentication, delivering a high level of security and fraud prevention without the need for any data input beyond a selfie.

AutoIdent is currently being pitched as an enterprise-level solution for companies that need a faster and safer way to verify the identities of their customers.

“Biometric identification methods that are already established in the public sector can also be of interest to private companies,” said DERMALOG’s Frank Kretschmer. “With AutoIdent, we are offering our national and international customers a turnkey solution that meets the current economic challenges.”

The two companies explain that AutoIdent will streamline the verification process and reduce the amount of resources (and personnel) needed for customer authentication. DERMALOG makes some of the fastest biometric recognition technology in the world, while IDnow recently completed an upgrade of its own identity and document reading platform. The new partnership brings both companies one step closer to the post-password era.
