Yoti Helps Jägermeister with Online Alcohol Sales

January 4, 2019

Yoti Helps Jägermeister with Online Alcohol Sales

Yoti got a high-profile new partner for its mobile identity verification system at the end of the year: The company announced that its app is now supporting alcohol sales in a collaboration with Jägermeister.

The Yoti app combines facial recognition with document reading to match users’ faces to their government-issued IDs, allowing for the remote verification of their identities. That, in turn, can facilitate the sale of restricted goods without the need for human operators to check customers’ IDs.

On Jägermeister’s online shop, that may translate to increased sales, and will also help to fight underage drinking. And whereas the online shop previously could only accept credit cards, it can now take payments via debit cards thanks to Yoti’s support. Customers need only to create a profile on the Yoti app, and to use the app to scan a QR code presented on the Jägermeister website.

It’s a particularly high-profile collaboration given the popularity of Jägermeister in the UK – Yoti’s home turf – and with Yoti offering six free shot glasses for every £10 spent on the online shop through a special promotion, it could help to further heighten interest in the company’s growing mobile identity platform.
