Independent Testing Finds DERMALOG Iris Tech Can Produce 25M Matches Per Second

June 27, 2018

Independent Testing Finds DERMALOG Iris Tech Can Produce 25M Matches Per SecondAnother round of independent testing has confirmed the considerable speed of biometric matching technology DERMALOG, and demonstrates that the Hamburg-based company has improved its iris recognition algorithm.

The testing comes by way of the German company’s compatriot, SGS-TÜV Saar, an industrial auditing and quality testing firm, which has found that DERMALOG’s iris recognition solution can match 25 million eyes per second. That’s a considerable improvement over the matching speed of 8.5 million per second that SGS-TÜV Saar found about a year ago.

The results arrive soon after SGS-TÜV Saar testing earlier this year that found that DERMALOG’s fingerprint matching technology could produce 3.6 billion matches per second, and another round of SGS-TÜV Saar testing that found DERMALOG’s face biometrics system could produce about a billion matches per second.

In a statement announcing these latest findings concerning its iris matching technology, DERMALOG CEO Gunther Mull emphasized his firm’s multimodal success in SGS-TÜV Saar’s biometric testing. “The fact that multiple biometric features can be compared in record time also proves our leading role in multimodal biometrics, which is becoming increasingly important.”
