“Another technologically sophisticated component of the rGuest Stay solution is its compatibility with voice-based AI systems like Amazon’s Alexa…”
Facial recognition technology is increasingly finding its way into the hospitality sector, with a new property management solution from Agilysis leveraging the technology for guest management.
The company’s rGuest Stay solution is aimed mainly at the customer service back end. It’s designed to recognize returning guests at a hotel or other hospitality establishment, and to immediately display their profile information to hotel administrators or other staff. That enables heightened service, such as a having a greeter in the lobby welcome a guest by name, and forego the need to ask for information about the guest’s stay and preferences.
It’s the latest indication that the hospitality sector could grow into an important market for facial recognition and other biometric technologies. One of the leaders in face biometrics, NEC, has in fact been shopping this kind of technology around for years; but with a hospitality solutions provider like Agilysis now taking the initiative, it appears market interest may be heating up.
Another technologically sophisticated component of the rGuest Stay solution is its compatibility with voice-based AI systems like Amazon’s Alexa; rGuest Stay is API-based, and thus allows for custom integrations that could further boost its value-proposition to hospitality firms looking for new, technologically advanced solutions.
