New Aware White Paper Outlines Enterprise Security Challenges, and Biometric Solutions

New Aware White Paper Outlines Enterprise Security Challenges, and Biometric Solutions

“Work will continue to change, but identity will always remain a fundamental element of enterprise security.” That observation is key to the perspective offered in Aware, Inc.‘s newest white paper, “Enterprise Security in the Age of Remote and Mobile Work”, a newly published resource offering a compelling assessment of the enterprise security landscape in the era of the data breach.

As discussed in FindBiometrics’ extensive Enterprise Security Month coverage, digitization has fundamentally transformed business operations. And as Aware’s new white paper outlines, mobile technology goes hand-in-hand with that trend. Pretty much everybody has a smartphone, and workplaces are accommodating these shifts with Bring Your Own Device attitudes that allow employees to access key assets using their own devices.

That can be really good for productivity, but it also opens up a plethora of new access points, and thus new security vulnerabilities for hackers and other malefactors looking for a way in. Fortunately, today’s mobile devices also offer new security solutions, with security systems like Aware’s Knomi app leveraging a smartphone’s camera for selfie-based authentication based on facial recognition, not to mention the FIDO Alliance’s rigorous authentication standards. This and Aware’s Indigo turnkey biometric solution both get well-deserved attention in the white paper, but its broader assessment of the big picture in enterprise security is valuable in its own right for enterprise administrators looking to avoid the kinds of data breaches that have already hurt so many prominent businesses and brands.
