Precise Biometrics has entered into a distribution agreement that should help the company make contact with customers interested in its YOUNiQ access control solution. To that end, the company has signed a deal with Elektroskandia Sverige AB, which is currently one of the top wholesalers of electrical and security equipment in Sweden.
YOUNiQ is a contactless access control product that uses facial recognition to verify the identities of registered users when they try to enter a facility. The platform leverages Innovatrics’ SmartFace facial recognition tech, and comes with liveness detection to guard against various forms of spoofing.
The new distribution agreement will make YOUNiQ one of the solutions that is available to customers shopping in Elektroskandia’s online and physical stores. Elektroskandia’s clientele includes a number of installation specialists and security providers, and Precise is hoping that the partnership will allow the company to make inroads with those companies. Those that purchase YOUNiQ will receive both the proprietary software and the facial recognition cameras needed to set up a biometric access control system.
“Elektroskandia will constitute a major sale channel for YOUNiQ,” said Precise CEO Stefan K. Persson. “I am convinced that we will see a boost of interest for our product and that we will be able to attract new customers keen for secure and convenient access to facilities where you are the key.”
“Using biometrics to open doors will be a new alternative to existing solutions,” added Elektroskandia Sales and Marketing Manager Christer de Wahl.
Precise has been steadily working to expand its YOUNiQ portfolio in the past few years, and credited its access control business for steadying the company as its mobile business fluctuated during the COVID-19 pandemic. The company recently installed YOUNiQ at the Science Village in Lund, and at Clarkson University’s North Country Incubator facility. Other YOUNiQ customers include Temporary Space and RCO Security.
