Apple iPhone X users will now have another meaning of “face time” with HID Global announcing Face ID support on its HID Approve two-factor mobile authentication and verification platform. The new facial recognition feature is a way for users to ensure more secure access, and avoid fraud, theft, cyber threats, or misuse.
“With the growing demand for an optimized user experience, facial recognition is a great addition for banks and enterprises that also want a high level of security,” said Martin Ladstaetter, Vice President of Product Management, IAM Solutions, with HID Global.
The facial recognition featured on Apple’s new iPhone X is cited as having applications for secure online mobile banking and digital signatures used in banking transactions. Furthermore, the Face ID feature on HID Approve can be used to secure remote access to employee data and applications. Customers can implement Face ID as a turnkey application, or it can be integrated into existing corporate apps using HID Approve software development kit.
This announcement is part of HID Global’s plan to develop new capabilities designed specifically for financial institutions to detect cyber threats, phishing, and fraudulent transactions
The company is developing new capabilities for facial recognition and AI that make it easier for financial institutions to detect cyber threats such as malware, ransomware, application hacking, phishing and fraudulent transactions.
