ZKAccess Launches Plug-and-Play Biometric Door Lock

Each ML10 door lock from ZKAccess can be programmed to recognize up to 40 distinct users.

ZKAccess has unveiled a new biometric door lock. Called the ML10, the device uses embedded fingerprint recognition technology and is designed for easy plug-and-play deployment.

Each ML10 door lock can be programmed to recognize up to 40 distinct users, who can be registered and de-authorized easily. The device is powered by four AA batteries and uses an audible signal to indicate when batteries should be replaced. It’s designed for both residential and small business deployments, and is reversible for left- or right-handed installation. Perhaps most importantly, user data is stored on the device and can be retrieved even in the event that the device loses power and has to restart.

The ML10 is the first major offering from ZKAccess since it became and independent company earlier this month. Biometric access control is increasingly finding its way into everyday businesses such as athletic centers as well as residential rental properties. Given its ease of installation and use, the ML10 looks poised to further expand the biometric access control market into the mainstream.
