In a statement announcing TOC’s accession to the organization, FIDO Alliance executive director Brett McDowell said the group is “excited to welcome TOC as our newest Associate member.” For TOC’s part, general manager Leon Paul highlighted his company’s work in fingerprint verification in Chile, Columbia, and Peru, and expressed pride in becoming FIDO’s first Latin American member organization.
Leon also took the opportunity to express enthusiasm for biometrics, a technology of central importance to many FIDO members. “We believe that biometrics is the best technology available today for online authentications,” he said, adding that the TOC team is “pleased to contribute to and support FIDO’s global standards and to keep up to date on the latest trends.”
While the FIDO Alliance stands to benefit from TOC’s expertise and its connections in the Latin American region, TOC will benefit from the FIDO Alliance’s increasingly strong reputation with respect to trusted authentication standards, and from its extensive partner network, which could lead to substantial business opportunities going forward.
