Suprema ID’s Latest Ultra-Thin Scanner Enhances Security on Chameleon Devices

March 12, 2021

South Korean biometric security specialist Suprema ID has announced the integration of its fingerprint scanning technology into yet another range of devices.

Suprema ID's Latest Ultra-Thin Scanner Enhances Security on Chameleon Devices

The latest partnership sees Suprema’s BioMini-Slim3 FAP 30 sensors incorporated into the Chameleon Range of biometric handheld and tablet products — which features over 20 biometric devices — manufactured by Laxton Group.

The BioMini Slim 3, the latest entry into Suprema’s BioMini Slim lineup of ultra-thin fingerprint sensors, boasts a large sensor area allowing for the capture of higher-quality fingerprint images, along with a deep learning-based liveness detection algorithm called Fake Finger Detection.

“Laxton Group recognizes the broad range of requirements our customers and partners have in the multitude of environments in which they operate,” said Nick Perkins, President Europe, Middle East, and Africa, at Laxton Group. “Incorporating the BioMini Slim 3 module into our devices further broadens the range and provides our customers and partners with the ability to leverage the Suprema ID brand.”

The news of this latest partnership follows a strong 2020 for Suprema, during which the company celebrated its 20th anniversary, announced numerous partnerships throughout the globe, and hosted its first ever virtual showcase in which it showed off what it plans for the future.

“We are pleased to offer the BioMini Slim 3 module that has been certified by FBI/FAP30 to our global customers who are considering deploying Chameleon Biometrics products with biometric functionality. Our BioMini Slim 3 strengthens our commitment to increasing security and convenience for our customers and our technology partners, such as Laxton,” Said Bogun Park, CEO at Suprema ID.

Just last month Suprema announced a number of executive changes, promoting two of its own from within the company while also celebrating the success of its FaceStation F2 Fusion Multimodal Terminal as the most successful product launched in the company’s history.
