SensiPass Acquires Global Patents for 3-Factor Dynamic Digital Signature Tech

November 21, 2018

“Because our patented method involves interactions with first inputs, we have also developed a highly enabling solution for interactions with augmented and virtual reality objects to provide access to immersive private environments.” – Mike Hill, CEO, SensiPass

SensiPass, a Dublin-based firm, has announced a new authentication system based on mobile biometrics.SensiPass Acquires Global Patents for 3-Factor Dynamic Digital Signature Tech

The company already offers two authentication systems: SensiPass Connect, its flagship offering, is a mobile app that is designed to authenticate the user via interaction with a selfie image, such as drawing a line around the user’s profile; SensiQR, meanwhile, prompts the user to scan a QR code from a computer screen or other device using their smartphone.

Now, however, SensiPass says it has acquired global patents for what it calls a “3-factor dynamic digital signature”. In a statement, the company explained that the system authenticates against a template of “secret interactions with biometrics,” adding that SensiPass uses “various face matching algorithms for the biometric factor,” but has “also developed interactive voice biometric algorithms, and even interactions with augmented and virtual reality objects.”

The company says that because its authentication system is based not only on biometric recognition but on user interaction, it is “highly dynamic… eliminating the ability for replay attacks of stolen credentials.”

As for where it goes from here, SensiPass says it is aiming to establish pilot programs in the US with major government agencies such as the National Institute of Health, the Department of Energy, and the Department of Defense’s Defense Information Systems Agency. It is also receiving financial and consulting assistance from Deloitte, which has named it one of its Deloitte Fast 50 companies.
