“As companies undergo massive digital transformation initiatives, the need for seamless, frictionless, and secure identity solutions to confidently understand both those situations is imperative.” – Andre Durand, Founder & CEO, Ping Identity
The deal will see SecuredTouch integrated into the PingOne Cloud Platform, offering enterprise customers an additional tool for bot and fraud detection, as well as step-up authentication when malicious activity is detected. SecuredTouch will be available as a standalone solution or as part of the overarching security platform.
SecuredTouch has enjoyed a rising profile in recent years, having joined the ForgeRock Trust Network in the spring of 2019, and the X-Sight Marketplace that summer. Likewise, there has been growing interest in behavioral biometrics technology as financial services organizations and other businesses have embraced it as a passive means of cybersecurity that can run in the background during user sessions.
“Identity isn’t just about knowing who customers are, it’s about knowing when someone is pretending to be a customer,” explained Ping Identity founder and CEO Andre Durand. “As companies undergo massive digital transformation initiatives, the need for seamless, frictionless, and secure identity solutions to confidently understand both those situations is imperative.”
The acquisition’s announcement arrives on the heels of Ping’s integration of Silverfort into its PingFederate platform to further bolster security against identity-based cyberattacks.
For SecuredTouch’s part, the company’s leadership expressed excitement about the acquisition and what it means for their solution. CEO Alasdair Rambaud called Ping Identity’s platform “the perfect foundation for SecuredTouch’s advanced fraud detection capabilities,” while co-founder and GM Ran Shulkind called Ping Identity “the perfect fit for our team, products, and technology.”
