The Montana Department of Justice Motor Vehicle Division (MVD) has rolled out its new driver licence cards. Developed by MorphoTrust (Safran), the cards have been deployed alongside its MorphoTrust AutoTest system.
In addition to new graphical design features, the driver licence cards gave improved security features such as barcodes, which should help to guard against identity fraud. Meanwhile, the MorphoTrust AutoTest web app is designed to produce randomized knowledge tests for Montana driver licence applicants.
The next phase of the MVD’s upgrades will see the rollout of MorphoTrust RoadTest, a tablet-based driver examination system sporting advanced features such as GPS tracking to monitor driver routes, and handwriting recognition technology allowing users to interact with it via stylus. The solution was recently deployed with the Nebraska Department of Motor Vehicles, and looks to be gaining in popularity with its new Montana deployment.
In a statement, MVD Division Administrator Sarah Garcia expressed optimism about this last upgrade, asserting that MorphoTrust’s driver license and AutoTest offerings have so far produced an “overwhelming” positive response from the public.
