Macaulay-Brown, Inc. (MacB) a provider of national security solutions, is going to be demonstrating some of its technology at the Special Operations Forces Industry Conference (SOFIC) next week. The event is a showcase for advanced technology for the global defense industry.
In a press release, MacB CEO Sid Fuchs said his company is “very proud of the long-standing partnership we have built with the SOF community,” and emphasized his company’s interest in “engaging key personnel” at SOFIC. The company will have a number of solutions on display, including miniature computing and data storage environment that MacB says is “immune to hostile forensic detection”, and an intrusion detection system that can automatically send alerts to authorized personnel when an unauthorized individual gains access to a secure space, which could be as small as briefcase or as large as an office. The company will also show off a multimodal biometrics platform using face and iris modalities “for discrete biometrics collection.”
That will surely garner some interest among the defense industry personnel attending the conference, as biometric technology is playing an increasingly prominent role in that community’s activities, particularly in the area of national security. The use of face and iris scanning systems to identify potential terrorists and criminals is gaining prominence, for example, and these same modalities are ideal for security screening at borders as well. And there will almost certainly be many defense officials interested in exploring the many other uses of such technology along with MacB.
