“…for GenKey the integration offers a substantial expansion of its suite of biometric solutions, empowering its clients with sophisticated iris recognition technology.”
GenKey has integrated Iris ID‘s iris recognition technologies into its biometric ID platform, the companies have announced.
It’s a big development for Iris ID; GenKey is a major government contractor, delivering biometric ID solutions for large-scale projects including voter identification and health card systems, and thus can bring Iris ID’s technology to wide range of new end users. Likewise, for GenKey the integration offers a substantial expansion of its suite of biometric solutions, empowering its clients with sophisticated iris recognition technology.
More specifically, the integration brings to GenKey’s platform the iCAM TD100 and iCAM T10 iris scanning cameras, together with the IrisAccelerator biometric matching engine.
Commenting on the integration in a statement, Iris ID sales and business development VP Mohammed Murad emphasized the benefits that contactless iris scanning has to offer. “Our cameras are unaffected by dirt, grease, gloves, facial hair and other factors that can limit the quality of registration and identity verification of other biometric systems,” he said.
For GenKey’s part, COO Arnd Langguth lauded Iris ID’s technology for its “proven, secure, high performance,” adding that it “will plug-in seamlessly” into the GenKey platform.
News of the integration comes after last month’s news that Iris ID’s iCAM 7S solution had attained BIS certification for use in India’s Aadhaar national ID program, suggesting the company could see a rising profile in the government sector over the coming months.
