iProov has expanded its presence in the Asia Pacific region through a new partnership with Australia’s IDV Pacific Pay. IDV is a document recognition specialist that currently offers services to public and private organizations in Australia and New Zealand.
By teaming with iProov, IDV will be able to supplement those document recognition services with iProov’s facial recognition technology to enable online identity verification. The joint solution will allow clients to verify someone’s identity document, and then match a photo of the individual to the photo on that document to make sure it is the same person. The system can ensure compliance with Know Your Customer and Anti-Money Laundering regulations, and can be used for applications like authentication, onboarding, and fraud prevention.
IDV’s platform can recognize more than 4,600 documents. Meanwhile, iProov’s Genuine Presence Assurance system utilizes controlled illumination for liveness detection. The biometric scan can be performed on a desktop computer or with a mobile device.
“Businesses, governments and individuals need to be able to verify that the person they’re dealing with online is the right person, a real person, and that they’re authenticating themselves right now,” said iProov Founder and CEO Andrew Bud. “Highly secure, easy to use authentication technology is essential in maintaining trust, privacy and safety on the internet.”
“By adding iProov facial biometric authentication to our platform we can offer the most secure and accurate identity verification solutions on the market,” added IDV CEO Peter Christie.
iProov recently revealed that it is now providing free biometric authentication services for bloomd, a digital community platform that is trying to alleviate feelings of isolation during the COVID-19 pandemic. Before that, the company used facial recognition to enable remote onboarding for people using the NHS mobile app on Android and iOS devices.
The regulatory technology specialist NorthRow has also adopted iProov’s Genuine Presence Assurance system.
