A Taiwan-based sensor maker is Precise Biometrics’ newest client. Image Match Design Inc. has licensed both of Precise Biometrics’ major biometric algorithm software platforms, Precise BioMatch Mobile and Precise BioMatch Embedded.
The agreement includes annual licensing and support fees, and a per-unit fee, with Precise Biometrics anticipating that it will start seeing revenues from the agreement in the fourth quarter of this year. In a statement announcing the deal, Precise Biometrics CEO Håkan Persson asserted that the partnership “strengthens our position as the leader in fingerprint software.” Meanwhile, Image Match Design CEO Colman Huang expressed his hope that it would be a long-term collaboration, saying he hopes to build a “positive and strong partnership from now on.”
It’s the latest in a string of new licensing partnerships for Precise Biometrics over the past several months, with other agreements struck with companies like Betterlife and IDEX. Meanwhile, the company continues to see ongoing integrations of its software into new devices via Fingerprint Cards, its most prominent sensor hardware partner.
