Suprema gathered 133 partners from 66 different countries for the 10th annual Suprema Global Partner Program (SGPP) in Lisbon, Portugal. The event ran from November 13 to 15, and was set up to give Suprema’s regional distributors and system integrators the chance to mingle with one another while getting a glimpse of upcoming Suprema innovations.
To that end, Suprema took the opportunity to introduce the latest version of its BioStar 2 security platform, and raised the curtain on a new facial recognition prototype. However, the company did not disclose any additional details about the prototype in question.
Suprema did hand out its Global Partner Awards to recognize the companies that have leveraged Suprema’s technology to particularly strong effect. The Spanish company Kimaldi was named as the Global Partner of the Year.
The BioStar 2 update should help alleviate security concerns in the wake of a hack that targeted the BioStar 2 biometric database. Suprema previously unveiled a prototype for a new facial recognition terminal in the beginning of the year, although it’s unclear if that prototype was in any way related to the one that was shared with partners at SGPP 2019.
