BioConnect has released the fifth iteration of its enterprise-grade access control platform. BioConnect Enterprise 5.0 introduces full support for BioConnect Link, and brings an updated Admin Console with improved reporting tools and data analysis capabilities.
BioConnect Link is a new Unified Mobile Access solution that was designed to bridge physical and a digital access control, allowing employees to gain entry to a physical location using authenticators on their own personal mobile devices. The system is compatible with several different authentication options, and supports contactless access control via facial recognition with a standalone terminal or a mobile app.
In that regard, BioConect Enterprise 5.0 can be used with the new BioConnect LR1 door reader, which supports both fingerprint recognition and mobile face recognition. In the latter case, the scan is paired with a card swipe for additional security. Non-biometric options include multi-card access, and card swipes with either a Wellness Declaration or a Multi-factor Authentication tool like Duo, Okta, or PingID.
Larger organizations will benefit from global biometric template distribution, which makes it easy to scale the platform and manage onboarding and employee access at locations all over the world. End users, meanwhile, have a degree of control over their privacy settings.
“For companies with a global footprint, managing multiple geographic locations and diverse user communities can be a challenge,” explained BioConnect CTO and CISO Courtney Gibson. “We designed BioConnect 5.0 to deliver the highest level of security and scalability to protect organizations from physical data breaches while still maintaining privacy for users.”
BioConnect 5.0 also comes with support for Suprema’s F2 facial recognition system. The reader offers mask detection and thermal screening in addition to facial recognition.
BioConnect Link has already garnered considerable industry acclaim. The solution won the Best Emerging Technology award at this year’s ISC West New Product Showcase.
