BioConnect Adds ‘Wellness Declaration” to Building Access Platform

May 28, 2020

“We are committed to helping our current and future customers keep their employees and facilities safe & secure, by adding a wellness declaration to BioConnect Link’s mobile application as part of a dynamic rules-based access platform to facilitate the opening of their facilities as safely as possible.” – Rob Douglas, CEO, BioConnect

BioConnect Adds 'Wellness Declaration" to Building Access Platform

Biometric access management specialist BioConnect has added a new “wellness declaration” feature to its BioConnect Link platform in a bid to further aid organizations in securing their facilities amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

The mobile solution is designed to activate when end users arrive at building access points, prompting them to declare whether they have any symptoms of illness, whether they have had a positive COVID-19 test, if they have been flagged for contact tracing, or if they are supposed to be in self-quarantine. Based on the self-declaration, administrators will be able to grant or deny access.

BioConnect says that no health-related personal data is shared beyond the end user’s mobile device.

In a statement announcing the new feature, BioConnect CEO Rob Douglas framed it as a solution for the current, delicate reopening phase being undertaken in so many areas after the peak of the first wave of COVID-19.

“We are committed to helping our current and future customers keep their employees and facilities safe & secure, by adding a wellness declaration to BioConnect Link’s mobile application as part of a dynamic rules-based access platform to facilitate the opening of their facilities as safely as possible,” he said. “As part of our BioConnect Cares Initiative, our new wellness declaration solution will be included at no additional charge for any organization using BioConnect Link.”

BioConnect noted that the new feature is part of its broader “BioConnect Cares” initiative aimed at helping clients and partners to implement contactless biometric security. The company has previously announced that it would also offer its facial recognition products for free or at a steep discount as part of the initiative.
