BIO-key Fingerprint Biometrics Expanding Through Retail POS Ecosystem

There are very many benefits that come with adding biometrics to employee access in retail. Since a biometric access system at a retail point-of-sale (POS) means no more forgotten passwords or lost tokens and a trustworthy transaction record, administrative time and cost goes down while employee accountability shoots up.

BIO-key International announced today that its fingerprint biometric authentication solutions will be on the receiving end of an expansion in this regard. NCR Corporation will be further expanding its deployment of BIO-key technology through a number of national retail chains, spreading biometric employee point-of-sale access control to tens of thousands of POS terminals.

NCR Corporation will be further expanding its deployment of BIO-key technology through a number of national retail chains.

NCR is a provider of retail operations technology. The expansion will see BIO-key’s software in popular retail chains including fast food restaurants like Wendy’s and Arby’s.

BIO-key’s technology is versatile and can therefore receive a wide range of deployments. Recently, the company has been targeting the mobile market through its new partnership with sensor manufacturer IDEX.
