For its part, Arrow Electronics has been targeting the IoT market for some time, having announced an Azure certified development board in 2015, and more recently having launched an IoT app design contest.

In a statement announcing the agreement, NEXT said that Arrow would also target its technology at “access control as well as personal authentication devices such as tokens, key fobs and other innovative applications.”

This isn’t the first time the companies have worked together. In February of last year, NEXT and Arrow announced a collaboration on a turnkey biometric solution for Windows 10 IoT devices.
