Another Coolpad device is using Precise Biometrics software for its fingerprint scanning capability. Precise BioMatch Mobile is powering the scanner of the new Coolpad Note 3 Lite.
The integration comes by way of Precise Biometrics’ longtime hardware partner, Fingerprint Cards, whose FPC1025 fingerprint sensor has been integrated into the new smartphone. And it isn’t the first such arrangement between the three companies, with Coolpad having previously integrated FPC’s and Precise Biometrics’ technology into its own.
With its low price of just over $100 USD, the Coolpad Note 3 Lite could help to extend the reach of Precise Biometrics fingerprint biometrics algorithm software further down the smartphone price spectrum. And that could help polish the company’s brand recognition among OEMs as it seeks to broaden its range of partnerships and thereby extend its reach across the fingerprint sensor sector, with Precise Biometrics having recently sealed a number of licensing deals with hardware makers other than FPC. Of course, it’s very fruitful relationship with FPC appears likely to continue for some time.
