Fingerprint Cards has announced multiple new mobile integrations of its fingerprint sensor technology today.
Oppo is using the FPC1245 sensor model in its new R9s and R9s Plus devices. It’s one of FPC’s many repeat customers, having also integrated FPC technology into its F1 Plus smartphone earlier this year, for example.
Meanwhile, FPC has announced that an unnamed “Japanese OEM” has launched two new smartphones featuring side-mounted FPC1145 sensors. It’s the same sensor model that was recently incorporated into SK Telecom’s Luna S device.
The integrations indicate continued momentum for FPC as it prepares to issue its Q3 results toward the end of this month, suggesting that its mobile biometrics business remains strong and dynamic as the company’s new leadership pushes its expansion into new areas such as smart cards and automotive applications of its biometric technology.
