Jumio has added an eye-tracking feature to its Netverify Trusted Identity as a Service platform.
The platform offers user authentication based on a combination of facial recognition and document reading, using smartphone and laptop cameras to acquire the relevant data. While it already featured liveness detection, its new eye-tracking functionality should serve to add further security to the platform. The platform will prompt users to follow a moving icon on the screen while verifying their identities, with the eye-tracking software helping to ensure that a real user is actually present in front of the device, with her eyes following along accordingly.
In a statement announcing the new feature, Jumio CEO Stephen Stuut said, “The addition of eyeball tracking makes Jumio’s Netverify the most sophisticated ID verification solution in the market.”
