UK-based horticulture and produce center Crocus has implemented a biometric time and attendance tracking system, care of Bodet Ltd.
The company’s previous system was card-based, and proving inadequate. In a statement announcing the biometric upgrade, Crocus HR Manager Danola Martin explained that the previous system “was unreliable not only due to errors in transferring data to the spreadsheets, but because buddy-punching was rife” among the company’s staff, which ranges from a workforce of 120 to 180 persons depending on the season.
Bodet provided the company with five Kelio Visio X7 terminals, which feature fingerprint scanning and proximity card reading capabilities, as a trial deployment in the company’s main office. The biometric time and attendance tracking was quickly roled out across the enterprise, and Crocus is planning to integrate it with its payroll system with an eye to saving on administrative costs.
It’s another example of the growing prominence of biometric time and attendance tracking systems, and a bit of validation for Bodet’s solution, which won a Red Dot Award prior to its launch earlier this year. Given the apparent success of this integration, Bodet could see more interested clients soon.
