Gemalto and airport and railway terminal maker IER have announced a new self-service solution for passenger processing. Called Gemalto and IER Fly to Gate, it’s a hardware and software package designed for adaptable deployments to airports.
The solution supports self-service kiosk and mobile check-in options, as well as document verification and multimodal biometric scanning including facial recognition. In a statement announcing Gemalto and IER Fly to Gate, the companies stressed its “complete flexibility to meet individual airport operator requirements,” and its “potential to make virtually all traveller handling processes automatic.”
The companies announced Gemalto and IER Fly to Gate during this week’s Passenger Terminal Expo in Amsterdam, where they are showcasing it from booth #5010. The solution arrives in an increasingly competitive landscape as more and more airports around the world embrace the security and efficiency of automated biometrics screening, and vendors like Vision-Box and Safran offer their own solutions to meet that demand.
