Identity and access management software provider Veridium has officially announced the appointment of Ismet Geri as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and board member, a move that was effective as of July 1st, 2020.

“I am honoured to have the opportunity to lead Veridium, an extraordinary company that has so much potential and so many talented people,” said Geri. “My goal is to ensure we meet our commitments to our customers, partners, employees, and shareholders.”
A veteran in the cybersecurity and identity industries, Geri — who holds a PhD in optoelectronics and a master’s degree in computer science — has a twenty year career holding positions in senior leadership roles with companies like Proofpoint, Infoblox, Juniper, ForgeRock, Transmit Security and Onfido.
Earlier this year, Veridium launched its vFace facial recognition system to complement its fingerprint technologies on its authentication platform, VeridiumID. The company also announced the development of its own patented behavioral biometrics system that uses the sensors commonly found in modern mobile devices to gather unique use data patterns that can create individual signatures for each user.
“Passwords are long dead and can no longer be relied upon to safeguard companies or consumers from the threat of fraud and data breaches,” commented Geri. “At Veridium, we believe your digital identity should fundamentally match your real identity and our technologies deliver a strong passwordless experience, enforced with our innovative Behavioural Biometrics AI/ML engine, to improve user experience, to increase security, and to meet ever changing regulatory requirements while simultaneously reducing costs and complexity.”
Speaking on the appointment, Michael Spencer, a major Veridium investor, said that “Ismet brings a phenomenal amount to Veridium. His first-class industry knowledge and deep understanding of the markets in which our clients operate, combined with commercial insight and a proven track record in delivering impressive business results, make him the natural choice to accelerate Veridium’s continued growth.”
