TECH5 is ramping up its sales and development efforts all over the world. To that end, the company is opening two new research and development centers to advance its biometric portfolio.
One of the new centers will be located in India, while the other will be located in Lisbon, Portugal. The Lisbon facility will double as a head office and a tech demo center, giving the company’s management and marketing teams a new place to meet with partners. The company’s official headquarters will still be located in Switzerland, while its primary R&D office will remain in the United States.
In terms of technology, the two new R&D facilities will work to improve the company’s face, fingerprint, and iris recognition algorithms. They will also help with the creation of new features for TECH5’s digital ID and identity verification platforms.
“We are continuously investing in R&D to make sure that our global partners and customers have access to the fastest and most accurate biometric and digital ID technologies and products serving all steps of the identity lifecycle,” said TECH5 Chairman, Co-founder, and CTO Rahul Parthe.
In addition to doubling down on R&D, TECH5 will be increasing the size of its sales team in every region in an effort to attract new partners. The company has been looking to expand since bringing in more investment funding earlier this year, and it is still planning to grow its presence in Africa, Latin America, and Asia in the months ahead. However, TECH5 is in the process of divesting from Russia, and is no longer selling its technology within the country.
TECH5 started that divestment process back in 2021. In the meantime, the company has established a local presence in the Australian market, and is already moving forward with its first government project in the country. TECH5 has also been active in the Indian market, and recently announced that it will be developing a new authentication system for the National Payments Corporation of India.
