Incode has become the latest biometric identity specialist to adapt its technology to meet COVID-19 challenges, announcing a new enterprise-focused solution called Incode HealthID.
The aim is to help businesses to safely reopen in the wake of the pandemic. Incode HealthID comprises a daily symptom check for employees returning to work, COVID-19 testing certification, temperature checking, and mask and hand sanitization confirmation. It uses facial recognition to identify end users, and can operate from a mobile device or HealthID kiosk to facilitate social distancing.
In announcing the solution, Incode emphasized that it was developed in accordance with World Health Organization and Centers for Disease Control guidelines. The systems is HIPAA and HITECH complaint, and based on GDPR principles, Incode says.
“There is no silver bullet to deal with the COVID-19 epidemic, so going back to a ‘new normal’ will not only require discipline, but also technology to automate the verification process while protecting employees’ right to privacy,” explained Incode CEO and founder Ricardo Amper. “This is precisely why we’ve created a robust multi-step process to facilitate the execution of multiple preventive measures ranging from basic hygiene to testing digital certification.”
The announcement of Incode HealthID comes after Incode secured $10 million in funding back in November of 2019, thanks in large part to interest in its Incode Omni biometric identity platform. If the company succeeds in establishing a solid position as a provider of technology enabling a return to work after COVID-19, it may well generate further investor excitement in the future.
