The Integrated Circuit Certificate Number is a four-digit reference number that verifies an IC’s compliance with EMVCo security standards. IDEMIA has obtained the ICCN security certificate for the secure chip of its biometric card solution, which will help to ensure compliance with various payment card schemes.
Zwipe also benefits from the certification as the company has global distribution rights for IDEMIA’s technology.
“The ICCN security certificate from EMVCo is an important step towards offering ZWIPE Pay ONE to our global customer network,” explained Zwipe CEO André Løvestam. “This disruptive biometric technology platform, combined with our deep technical and market expertise, is what makes ZWIPE the natural One Stop Shop for all smart card manufacturers aiming to meet the soaring demand from issuers and consumers for a more convenient, truly contact free payment experience.”
In announcing the certification, the companies indicated that they’re aim is to have their solutions ready to roll out in the second half of 2021. IDEMIA’s card solution is dubbed F.CODE Gen2, while Zwipe has been promoting its ZWIPE Pay ONE solution.
The news comes after Zwipe announced the appointment of three new executives earlier this month, positioning itself for aggressive growth in the payments space.
IDEMIA, for its part, announced a biometric payment card pilot program in collaboration with Singapore’s MatchMove and Mastercard in late October.
