HYPR is celebrating a handful of certification milestones. The company has now received SOC Type II certification in the United States, in addition to three ISO certifications internationally. Two of those certifications (ISO27001 and ISO27017) attest to HYPR’s cloud security capabilities, while the third (ISO27018) attests to its ability to safeguard user privacy.

Moving forward, HYPR believes that the certifications will make its True Passwordless MFA solution more appealing to potential customers. It already has some evidence to support that assumption. The company has agreed to provide passwordless authentication services for Aon, a risk management specialist that cited HYPR’s certifications as a key factor in its procurement decision.
In that regard, Aon is planning to use the True Passwordless solution to streamline its internal authentication procedures. The company has roughly 50,000 employees, all of whom will soon be using HYPR’s technology to log into workstations without using a platform. They will also be able to use the same technology to access cloud resources remotely.
Aon believes that passwordless authentication will lower costs, deliver a better user experience, and make its workforce more productive since people will not need to spend as much time dealing with password resets and help desk calls. The other major benefit is improved security, with Aon reporting that ransomware attacks jumped 400 percent between the beginning of 2018 and the end of 2020. By getting rid of passwords, the company will be able to eliminate one of the primary causes of data breaches.
“Our industry must remain vigilant when implementing the right measures to protect our data,” said Aon CISO Joe Martinez. “Moving to passwordless MFA was the next technological evolution for our firm as we continue expanding our solutions and accelerating our digital transformation to strengthen the resiliency of our workforce.”
HYPR raised $35 million in Series C funding in April of 2021. The company would then join the Microsoft Intelligent Security Association later in the year.
