Healthcare Biometrics: Credence ID Uses Innovatrics Algorithms for Patient ID in Senegal

November 5, 2020

Innovatrics is providing the biometric identification technology for Credence ID’s new universal healthcare project in Senegal. To that end, the company’s face and fingerprint recognition algorithms have been integrated into Credence’s entire product line, including the CredenceCONNECT 2.0 device management platform.

Healthcare Biometrics: Credence ID Uses Innovatrics Algorithms for Patient ID in Senegal

The Senegal project was announced at the end of October, and has financial backing from the World Bank’s La Couverture Maladie Universelle platform. The program will use biometrics to link patients to their patient records, and to improve clinical workflows during checkups. The broader goal is one of medical inclusion, as Senegal strives to make healthcare more affordable and more accessible for people in the country. In that regard, secure identity verification will allow Senegal’s Ministry of Health to accept financial donations from benefactors looking to fund hospitals, consultations, and other forms of regular and specialized care.

Innovatrics’ biometric technology is used to register new patients, and to verify the identities of returning patients when they receive service. It also provides access control for system administrators, who will have a comprehensive overview of device activity through the CredenceCONNECT dashboard.

“CredenceCONNECT 2.0 dramatically changes mobile ID device management deployed in the field, and we are pleased to be part of this platform as their fingerprint algorithm of choice,” said Innovatrics North America BDM Nina Suchankova. “With the versatility of Credence ID’s mobile ID devices and the accuracy of Innovatrics algorithms, customers with the most challenging conditions can deploy face and fingerprint identification with ease.”

Innovatrics recently achieved iBeta Level 1 compliance with its face-based passive liveness detection solution. The company has also teamed up with PosAm to make it easier for citizens to access government services on mobile devices in Slovakia.
