Boston-based biometric wearables company WHOOP and fitness platform CrossFit have announced a partnership naming WHOOP as the Official Wearable of CrossFit.
The new announcement will result in CrossFit athletes at all levels being able to take advantage of WHOOP data tracking on training, sleep, and recovery, with CrossFit also planning on sharing the data collected via its broadcast programming and other digital and on-site channels.
“CrossFit athletes were some of the earliest WHOOP adopters and have continued to be an integral part of our growing global membership,” said Will Ahmed, WHOOP Founder and CEO. “WHOOP is the ideal partner for CrossFit training as it provides the information that athletes and fitness enthusiasts alike need to understand their bodies, prioritize recovery, and ultimately optimize performance. We are incredibly excited to become an official partner of CrossFit and bring our communities even closer together,” he added.
The duo will also create a number of co-branded events during their partnership, with the aim of digging deeper into health and fitness issues highlighted by the data collected from CrossFit athletes wearing the biometric sensor-laden WHOOP Strap.
CrossFit also plans on integrating insights gathered by WHOOP into their educational platforms, including sleep and recovery content for both new members and top trainers.

The is the latest in a string of partnership announcements for WHOOP, in what has been a busy year for the rapidly growing company. Back in July of 2020, the PGA Tour and WHOOP made a similar announcement that included the creation of the WHOOP Live Charity initiative in which PGA Tour players could have their biometric data and heart rate displayed during defining moments of the course of the season, with a $10,000 donation from WHOOP and the PGA Tour being made to a charity on behalf of participants.
More recently, WHOOP and the US Army revealed a collaboration that will see the Paratroopers of the 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team (Airborne), 25th Infantry Division, “Spartan Brigade” wear the WHOOP Strap 3.0 in a new study that will examine the effects of stress and resilience of soldiers in an Arctic environment.
