NEC Corporation of America

NEC Corporation of America

Website - https://www.necam.com/

NEC has been at the forefront of defining leading-edge biometric identification solutions for over 40 years. NEC’s identification technologies include finger/palm print, DNA and face recognition solutions.

The NEC fingerprint/palm and facial recognition technologies are ranked number one in the Biometric Grand Challenges carried out by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), commissioned by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. Independent testing also confirms that NEC’s face recognition technology outperforms all other face recognition systems in matching accuracy and speed, and is the most resistant to variants in aging, race and pose angle.

NEC has developed some of the world’s largest and most complex identification infrastructure projects for government and law enforcement, including:

  • National ID, e-Passports, Visas and Residency permits
  • Border automation and airport solutions
  • Law enforcement identification and surveillance solutions
  • Drivers’ licenses
  • Voter Registration

Our Mission – To help government and businesses use technology to build a safer environment for life and work.

NEC Solutions

Integra-ID® AFIS

Next Generation Matching Processor for Fingerprint, Palmprint and Facial Matching

NEC’s Integra-ID solution incorporates the latest matching processor utilizing multiple algorithms to dynamically manage processing of face, latent, palmprint and tenprint records. With multiple matching algorithms, Integra-ID is able to increase the matching accuracy and speed.

An important identification advancement built in the Integra-ID solution is the VRP (vertical ridge patterning) function, which automatically extracts the key elements of the fingerprint to search. VRP handles the whole process of preparing the print image, including cropping, zoning out parts that are not good, marking minutia points, and setting the core. VRP saves time of manually editing and marking prints.

Integra-ID® Archive

Comprehensive Data Repository Solution

NEC’s Integra-ID NIST & Document Archive System is a comprehensive, cost-effective and scalable data repository solution. It provides law enforcement agencies a secure and fast way of digitizing, storing and retrieving fingerprint records, and associated case documents, on demand. The system offers a sophisticated user interface and efficient workflow module so users can easily manage fingerprint records and documents using an online data repository. It can also host external subsystem interfaces such as Live Scan systems.

The built in Smart Meta Search Engine provides a faster way to conduct drill down searches on the repository to assist in investigative work. A typical user search can include a specific record number (such as SID number or booking number) or simple text (such as name or hair color) with a wildcard feature. In addition, the system also enables advanced searches with structured criteria, delivering a cohesive, user-friendly way for search management.

NeoFace® Reveal

Advanced Criminal Investigative Solution Using Face Recognition Technology

NEC’s NeoFace Reveal is a latent face workstation providing law enforcement and crime laboratory agencies the ability to enhance poor quality latent face images, search against their mugshot repositories, and identify potential candidates. NeoFace Reveal allows authorities to match facial images against these potential candidates, ranking the database images against the probe image and providing a ranked candidate list. The solution allows operators to easily scroll through and review the candidate list, enabling a quick assessment by skilled experts.

NeoFace® Watch

Generate Real-time Alerts Using Highly Accurate Face Recognition Technology

NEC’s NeoFace Watch solution is specifically designed to integrate with existing surveillance systems by detecting and extracting faces in real time from existing video surveillance systems and matching against select watch list(s) of individuals. When the system identifies an individual of interest from the watch list, it generates and issues an alert, so appropriate actions can be taken rapidly to reduce the risk of public safety threats.

NeoFace® SMART ID

Face Recognition, Anytime, Anywhere.

NEC’s NeoFace Smart ID is a mobile application for commercial off the shelf smartphones and tablets equipped with multi-biometric capture capability. NeoFace Smart ID can capture facial images, fingerprints and voices in addition to descriptive data. NEC’s NeoFace Smart ID allows operators to rapidly identify persons in the field without ID credentials based upon an AFIS or facial recognition search. NeoFace Smart ID can be used by skilled operators to collect evidence at crime scenes and if necessary, perform a lights-out latent search of the AFIS to expedite the success of the investigation.

NeoFace® Match

Matching Software Platform

Through a software matching platform, NEC’s facial recognition technology enables integrators, solution providers and device manufacturers to integrate NEC’s same proven, unparalleled high accuracy facial matching technology into their identification and verification applications. NeoFace Match Blackbox or Software Development Kit (SDK) provides a compact and easy to use interface without conditional compilations for different platforms. The API is identical for all supported platforms.
