IDEX has launched a new series of glass and ceramic fingerprint sensors for mobile devices. 
In a statement announcing the new products, IDEX CEO Dr. Hemant Mardia said they would serve mobile OEMs that are “increasingly relying on glass to strengthen the industrial designs of next generation smartphones.”
The company will officially launch the new sensors at the upcoming Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, where it will offer demonstrations of the products to customers in private meetings. The company will also take the opportunity to show off examples of its ASIC for off-chip fingerprint sensors, which just completed the development stage and is expected to go into sampling in Q2; and it will showcase new partner-developed IoT products that are using its off-chip sensor technology.
Mobile World Congress will run from February 27th to March 2nd, with IDEX scheduled to exhibit from Stand 1G26 in Hall 1.
