ChartaCloud Technologies LLC, host of the 2015 Home Health Care Technologies Symposium in the US, has announced that the technologies agenda of the symposium has been expanded to include HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) Compliance Risk Assessment systems and biometric voice signature systems.
The company plans to introduce symposium guests to the Voice Signature Service (SM), a voice biometrics platform developed by TradeHarbor, a voice authentication company. The new platform offers a novel means of digital document signing that revolves around voice authentication. In a press release, ChartaCloud called it “an easier and more secure electronic signature capability than conventional digital signature services.”
This kind of technology is on the rise in the healthcare world. Hospitals are increasingly transitioning their documentation to the digital realm, and as such a number of solutions are arriving to help doctors manage those electronic documents, such as the Imprivata Confirm ID system allowing for the electronic prescription of controlled substances. Other companies are jumping into the market with more general, scalable eSignature systems as well that could be used in a range of different applications and field. But as organizations increasingly look to biometric technology to secure their digital documents, a novel voice authentication solution like the one developed by TradeHarbor could prove uniquely appealing.
