Sweden-based Nexus Group has agreed to distribute Zwipe Access biometric smart cards as part of its portfolio of identity verification solutions. More specifically, the company will offer Zwipe Access through its Nexus GO Cards as a Service online portal, making it available to clients across 15 countries in Africa, the Middle East, and Europe.
In a statement announcing the agreement, Nexus Group’s Managing Director for Norway, Jon Land, lauded Zwipe’s biometric access control solution, which brings fingerprint sensors to smart cards to ensure that they are in the hands of designated personnel when in use. Land called Zwipe Access “a truly unique solution” that allows organizations to improve security “without making any costly and complicated changes to their existing access control system or security infrastructure.”
The development comes just a couple of weeks after Zwipe announced a distribution agreement with South Africa-based Priority Group Holdings that would see Zwipe Access marketed throughout the Southern African Development Community. The deals suggest that Zwipe is rapidly expanding the market availability of its Access Control cards; and in so doing it’s also further building its brand as it seeks to commercialize its new biometric payment card solution.
