In case you somehow missed the big news out of California today – that Apple’s newly announced iPhone 5S will officially have a biometric fingerprint sensor built into the home button – well, all of the rumors were true.
In addition to the low-cost plastic iPhone 5C, upgraded camera hardware and the brand new iOS 7, Tim Cook and the team at Apple announced that instead of PINs, new iPhones, starting with the 5S will be locked by user fingerprints via the Touch ID Sensor. Shortly after the announcement, an in depth demonstration video went online.
Watch it here, and stay tuned to findBIOMETRICS and Moblie ID World this week for further reporting and commentary on the Touch ID Sensor.
