Vipsnet Adopts IntelliTrust Authentication

A software security provider specializing in the educational sector will use Entrust Datacard technology to enhance the authentication solutions available to their clients.

In a statement announcing the deal, Entrust Datacard explained that Vipsnet has opted for the IntelliTrust authentication service for several reasons, including its support for authentication mechanisms like mobile credentials and biometrics. Entrust Datacard launched IntelliTrust just last June, and added a facial recognition capability, care of FacePhi, later in the year.

Entrust Datacard’s announcement also suggested that the solution will help Vipsnet to expand its reach in the Netherlands, where it hopes to attain new school board and university clients.

Elaborating on the solution’s appeal, Vipsnet CTO Juliaan van Heyningen said, “The Entrust Datacard IntelliTrust authentication service provides us with a cloud identity and access management platform to deliver our customers modern and easy-to-use security.” Van Heyningen added that the capabilities of Entrust Datacard’s Managed Service Provider “free us of time-consuming IT management and allow us to focus on better servicing our clients.”
