TypingDNA Adds One-Time Password Functionality

TypingDNA is adding an extra layer of security to its keystroke biometrics platform. The company has announced the launch of TypingDNA MFA, a multifactor authentication solution that combines keyboard biometrics with an email or text-based one-time password (OTP).

At its core, TypingDNA uses behavioral biometrics to authenticate users based on their typing pattern. The new OTP functionality introduces two-factor authentication, combining TypingDNA’s passive authentication with more active security features to further lower the threat of fraud for enterprise level clients.

“We have chosen to simplify the authentication process, designing an all in one product capable reducing identity fraud while improving user experience,” said TypingDNA co-founder and CEO Raul Popa. “This unique MFA solution is fully customizable and easy to scale so small businesses and large corporations can equally benefit from it.”

TypingDNA MFA can be used to secure any single sign-on channel or access management system, whether on-site or through the cloud. The news highlights the company’s efforts to broaden the utility and appeal of its authentication technology. The company recently hired a new VP of Sales, and has been actively working to educate people about behavioral biometrics since landing $1.5 million in seed funding earlier this year.
