Since 2006, Thomas Marschall has been the CEO of fingerprint recognition company Precise Biometrics, but today the company has announced he will be leaving the company. In his absence Håkan Persson will be acting as CEO while the board of directors searches for a permanent leader.
”The strategy is clear and so are our growth targets,” says chairman Lisa Thorsted. “Through many years Precise Biometrics has created the platform for future development. We are now ready to take the next step. With a change in top management the Board wants to be able to respond faster to opportunities in the market and thereby ensure momentum and benefit from the company’s healthy financial situation to the benefit of customers, shareholders and employees.”
During this time as CEO Håkan Persson plans to put a greater focus on sales, a strategy that he says will be key to unlocking the potential of Precise Biometrics’ technologies.
”Through the years, Thomas Marschall has made an immense contribution and for this we are very grateful,” continues Thorsted. “He has commercialized the company’s technology and patents as well as developed new products to support this. He has contributed to a stronger partner set-up and partner strategy as well as ensured the necessary capital to develop and position the company to its present status”
Under the leadership of Marschall the company licensed its fingerprint algorithm to sensor manufacturer Fingerprint Cards, and as a result saw the launch of a smartphone in Asia containing its solution. The board believes that Persson will be able to bring deeper sales experience to the roll.
