Synaptics Q3 Update Could Illuminate Mobile Sector Trends

April 8, 2019

“The report may shed light on salient trends in the mobile industry.”

Synaptics Q3 Update Could Illuminate Mobile Sector Trends

Synaptics has set a date for the publication of its Q3 fiscal results: They will be issued on Thursday, May 9th, after market close. A conference call in which the results will be discussed has been scheduled for that same day, starting at 5:00pm Eastern Time.

The report may shed light on salient trends in the mobile industry. The sector proved to be Synaptics’ primary source of revenues in its Q2 report issued in February, Synaptics being the supplier of mobile technologies like in-display fingerprint sensors; but in mid-March the company announced that it is anticipating revenues in the lower end of its guidance range, owing to “demand softness” in China.

That announcement came along with the news of the departure of CEO Richard Bergman, and the establishment of an executive leadership committee helmed by Executive Chairman of the Board Nelson Chan.

Synaptics’ May 9th conference call will be simulcast on the web, with a recording to be made available online in the Investor Relations section of its website.
