Essentially, the partnership will see Nok Nok Labs software and servers used to test the products of Synaptics and its OEMs using real-world authentication scenarios. Both companies are, of course, co-founders of the FIDO Alliance, and so bring a high level of expertise in this area. Therefore, OEMs working with Synaptics technology can rest assured that they are in the right hands when getting their products FIDO Certified.
In a statement, Nok Nok Labs CEO Phillip Dunkelberger said the collaborative effort “helps to expand the ecosystem of FIDO Certified solutions that deliver a superior authentication experience and complete end-to-end solution,” while Synaptics VP Anthony Gioeli proclaimed that Nok Nok Labs’ support “provides assurance to our customers that their FIDO solutions have been tested to ensure compliance and interoperability.”
Further boosting its FIDO credentials, Synaptics has also announced that its large area VFS7500 and VFS7500S sensors, its small area FS4200 sensor, and its VFS6100 swipe sensor have all received FIDO certification.
