Biometrics solutions manufacturer StoneLock announced today the appointment of Jim Trani in the role of Chief Technology Officer. Trani is a high profile addition to StoneLock’s executive team, bringing 40 years of experience in engineering R&D.
Commenting on Trani’s appointment, StoneLock CEO and co-founder Colleen Dunlap said, “Jim has been at the highest levels of enterprise security for many years and we are thrilled to welcome him, a true leader in security design and product engineering, to our team. His wide-ranging experience in the research and development of complete engineering solutions, including professional licenses for electrical and mechanical engineering, will accelerate StoneLock’s growth and leadership in the design and manufacturing of advanced technology products.”
StoneLock designs and manufactures biometric access control solutions that leverage Near-Infrared technology for frictionless facial recognition. According to StoneLock’s website, the company’s facial recognition technology scans over 2000 points on a subjects face in less than a second, and can distinguish between identical twins.
Trani, as StoneLock’s CTO, will manage the company’s engineering teams, developing biometric applications for identity management, and “create the technology vision for StoneLock and translate that vision into new products,” according to a statement from the company.
