“…SmartMetric says the solution is designed for compatibility with existing security infrastructure.”
SmartMetric has announced a new biometric card for network and physical access control.
It’s the size of a credit card, and features a built-in fingerprint scanner. Validation is performed entirely on the card, helping to protect user data. And SmartMetric says the solution is designed for compatibility with existing security infrastructure.
In a statement announcing the solution, SmartMetric asserted that it is “evaluating various distribution partnerships with some of the largest companies in the Security and Identity market,” and is aiming “to move forward quickly in partnership with established industry players”.
SmartMetric says it also has a biometric credit card solution that sports chip reader compatibility. That solution could also generate some interest given the growing excitement around the biometric payment cards market, which is just starting to emerge in a big way.
