Interbrand has named Samsung Electronics one of the world’s best brands, with the company placing seventh in Interbrand’s Best Global Brands 2016 rankings.
The company was lauded for its year-on-year growth in brand value, which has tripled over the past five years. Its efforts in delivering innovative services and products, as exemplified in its iris-scanning Samsung Galaxy Note7, were also said to be an important factor in its ranking.
Much of the company’s technological innovation and expertise can be traced to Samsung SDS, its information technology subsidiary. The division has concerned itself with a range of complex subjects including multimodal biometric authentication, as detailed in a recent Mobile ID World conversation with Financial Services Solutions VP Richard Lobovsky and Financial Services Solutions Architecture Director Shankar Saibabu.
Those executives will be on hand for a major webinar on biometrics in financial services, moderated by Mobile ID World President Peter O’Neill, on November 2nd at 2pm EDT. Seeking to delve into the benefits offered by biometric technology and to debunk the myths attached to it, that webinar will also feature Javelin Strategy & Research SVP Al Pascual and FIDO Alliance Executive Director Brett McDowell. Registration for the webinar is currently open and free of charge.
