Palm Beach Gardens, FL – April 2, 2013, Today U.S. Congressman Patrick Murphy (FL-18) visited Cross Match Technologies’ headquarters where he was able to visit with constituents and view firsthand their work to ramp up production of Cross Match’s new Guardian and Guardian IP ten-print scanners and SEEK II multi-biometric handheld solution. The visit comes as part of Rep. Murphy’s ongoing effort to “bring Congress to your company.”
“It is extremely important that we in Congress continue to support the growth of cutting edge U.S. companies like Cross Match,” said U.S. Congressman Patrick E. Murphy. “As a global leader and innovator in biometrics, Cross Match exemplifies success as our economy gradually recovers. The company has generated over 300 jobs here in Florida by developing and manufacturing fully integrated, best-in-class hardware and software to identify individuals based on their fingerprints, irises, and facial geometry. This technology is crucial to our national defense, law enforcement, and immigration as well as private industries such as fraud detection and financial services. Congress must work to bolster the growth of companies like Cross Match by avoiding economic potholes like the sequester and instead reinvest in growth areas and reform our overly complex and loophole-ridden tax code. Positive, bipartisan action along these lines will save taxpayer dollars, protect our citizens, and create more opportunity for everyone.”
“Rep. Murphy understands the challenges and realities that technology companies face today in government contracting and in the global marketplace,” said David Buckley, CEO of Cross Match Technologies. “It is very important for us to have a close working relationship with our delegation in Congress – we look forward continuing our joint effort with Rep. Murphy and his team to bring more jobs and prosperity to our community and our region.”
The Guardian and Guardian IP are the next generation scanning technology incorporating a revolutionary user interface, enhanced optical design, and more flexible capture modes. The new Guardians deliver a completely self-guided ten-print fingerprint capture process that meets the demands of high throughput implementations such as border control applications. These technologies currently support the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s US VISIT program and a host of other national security programs within federal, state and local governments.
Cross Match is a leading innovator and provider of biometric identity management solutions to governments, law enforcement agencies, and businesses around the world. Cross Match’s industry leading technologies also support a wide array of programs and initiatives worldwide, including secure voter registration/election integrity, national ID, financial services access, benefits distribution assurance, and many others.
