“…one immediate and tangible result of the partnership will be Infinitium’s adoption of biometric authentication into its products and services.”
Korea-based mobile biometrics specialist Raonsecure has entered into a new partnership with Infinitium, a Malaysia-based electronic payments solutions provider focused on the APAC region. The companies will seek to combine their technologies and expertise to enhance security for their solutions and to work on “new types of jointly developed products,” according to a statement announcing their cooperation.
The partnership could help to further promote FIDO Alliance authentication standards in the APAC region. Raonsecure’s biometric solutions are based on FIDO standards, and the company joined FIDO’s Board of Directors in May of this year.
While the companies have not yet specified the future products upon which they plan to collaborate, one immediate and tangible result of the partnership will be Infinitium’s adoption of biometric authentication into its products and services. Commenting on that effort, Infinitium CEO Ho Ching Wee said it is “expected to propel the adoption of biometrics within the regional markets, and further deepen Infinitium’s already established market footprint of more than 40 banks and over 180 million cardholder base within Asia.”
The companies say that such products and services will launch “as early as the first quarter of 2018.”
