Last week at FindBiometrics we prepared to travel to Las Vegas for our Monday panel at Money20/20. We also reported on the BioConnect Launch Party in Toronto, new innovations in mobility and biometric elections around the globe. Today, FindBiometrics president Peter O’Neill will be hosting a panel on the topic of biometrics and finance, which will feature experts from around the industry including Daon, Morpho (Safran), USAA, ValidSoft and MasterCard. Access Control, Time & Attendance, Border Control

Biometric Access ControlIn Toronto last week, Entertech Systems held the official launch party for BioConnect at the company’s new headquarters, and FindBiometrics was there to report on the festivities. Physical access and time & attendance applications were major subjects during the keynotes at the event, but they were also elsewhere in the news. ZKAccess launched a new access control system intended for parking facilities and Paychex announced biometric time and attendance features on a new human capital management product.

Meanwhile, in border control news last week, we saw Vision-Box delivering its biometrics solutions to a major Schengen border between Spain and Gibraltar.

MobileMobile Identity Month continued last week with a look into the role that flexibility plays in the convergence of biometrics and mobile technology. MorphoBIS, with the help from Microsoft Azure, was brought into the Morpho Cloud last week while we reported on two new Fingerprint Cards sensor integrations. Pebble has chosen Nuance Communications’ speech recognition for its smartwatch tech and Precise Biometrics struck a licensing deal with Cypress that will see it’s Precise BioMatch Mobile software integrated into the latter’s sensors.

Biometric voting is catching on elsewhere too, with the announcement that Oman will be using biometrics in an upcoming election and news that Integrated Biometrics is supplying a large order of Watson Mini fingerprint readers for electoral purposes in Brazil.
